Bring a Literacy Alive! program to your school.
Students are engaged in bringing literacy alive through reading together, creating props and acting out one of Virginia Lynn Anderson's illustrated storybooks. Programs available through Arts for Learning Connecticut.

Virginia's first book, "The Flying Phlox" came out during the fall of 2009 and she has been doing storytelling programs and book signings around the state. To purchase one of the books, follow the storybooks link.
Her next book in the series, "The Very Lonely Garden" is now available! It is available in both paperback and hardcover versions. Perfect for a gift anytime of the year.
"The Very Lonely Garden" is a wonderful feel good story that stars a pet dragon and is also a lovely nature theme. All of the illustrations in the book come from a single painting that Virginia created at The Montessori School of Greater Hartford during an art residency.
Virginia offers programs with the book that are wonderful for schools, libraries and other organisations. Contact Virginia to arrange a program or book signing event.
Virginia also is now on the roster as a teaching artist with Young Audiences of Connecticut / VSA Arts Her "Paint me a Storybook"programs and her " Arts Express" programs are dynamic ways to fully engage students through arts integrated She is in the directory, so you can find her program descriptions there.
